Making a Difference: The Reseda News
One of the biggest benefits of publishing a Custom House newspaper is the opportunity to positively touch readers and endear you to the community. Along with real estate content that positions you as the local expert, a Custom House publication helps translate your message and mission to your farm area.
Mike Volante’s Reseda News continuously translates his message effectively to his readers. It balances real estate marketing and community relations efforts perfectly.
The Northridge, Calif. real estate agent asked readers of his publication to answer the question “How can we make our community a better place to live?” Volante received a number of letters, and printed a few of the most interesting submissions in the next edition. It turns out, most felt the community just needed a little sprucing up, and Volante agreed.
By the time the next issue of the Reseda News hit mailboxes, Volante had gathered the support of the local authorities and launched a Clean Up Our Community campaign, challenging his readers to call him when they see graffiti or trash of any kind. If they did, Volante promised to personally help resolve it.
In a short time, the campaign has started to make a difference, as residents have consistently taken Volante up on his challenge.
The response to Volante’s effort and his publication has been tremendous. The residents love it; Volante is increasingly noticed around town, and the Reseda News has captured the respect of the local community leaders. In fact, many of the leaders who have supported Volante’s clean-up efforts have also become columnists for his publication.
